Let's have the honest conversation about price, because I know what you're thinking. A PermaClone collar costs more than the floppy foam disc you're used to. Three to four times more. Why would anyone pay that?

A PermaClone collar runs about $2.89. A comparable ergonomic foam collar runs about $0.65. So yes, up front, mine is more than four times the price. If you stop the analysis there, foam wins.

- Biweekly cycles (26 a year) for 5 years: that's $84.50 of foam avoided per site. More than a 29x return.

The number that proves it
I don't ask you to take the five-year lifespan on faith. My prototype set from 2012 is still in use today. Same collars, hundreds of sterilization cycles, still holding cuttings. We back the collars with a 5-year warranty on functional performance, but the prototypes have already outrun that by years.
The part that isn't on the spreadsheet
There's a second saving the ROI math doesn't even count: contamination. Every foam collar you reuse is a debris trap and a re-infection risk, the kind of thing that quietly crashes a batch and costs you far more than $0.65. A collar you can actually sterilize removes that variable. The clean cycles are worth more than the collar ever costs.
Reusable isn't the expensive option. It's the one that stops charging you.
